Nanjing Tech University has a history of more than one hundred years as a cradle of education. It is one of the first batch of 14 universities of the Higher Education Innovative Capacity Promotion Plan ("2011 Plan" for short). We are ranked 31st in Chinese mainland universities in Nature Index 2018 (September), 601-800 globally in Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2018 and 401-500 in Shanghai Ranking’s Academic Ranking of World Universities 2018. Nanjing Tech University has more than 2900 teaching and administrative staff among whom there are two academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences, five academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering, two National Outstanding Professional and Technical Talents, five chair professors of "Changjiang Scholars Program" of Ministry of Education, eight scientists-in-chief for the "973 Program", twenty-nine awardees of the "Thousand Talents Plan", seven winners of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, one member of the Expertise Committee for the "12th Five- Year Plan" and "863 Plan", three members of the Expertise Group for Key Subjects, two National Model Teachers, four National Excellent Teachers and one Huang Danian Teaching Team. In 2006, Nanjing Tech University scored A in the Undergraduate Education Assessment by Ministry of Education and passed the evaluation of MOE Undergraduate Education Assessment in 2016.
